I love drinking hot cocoa and driving around town looking at lights. I especially love spending time with family. This can be the hardest time of the year for some however.
Plays mean taking the kids to another practice each week. Sometimes it's hard to find money for gifts and even harder to figure out what your loved ones want. The perfect "Pinterest worthy" decore can be expensive and exhausting. All the treats and warm drinks pack on the pounds. And for many, loved ones that are away or deceased and family squabbles can cause holiday blues.
Tips for Handling Holiday Stress
• Keep up with your daily devotions- time in prayer and reading God's Word will shore you up spiritually and give you practical wisdom for daily life.
• Set limits- decide ahead of time what you can and can't or will and won't do and stick to it. Don't spend more money, time, or energy than you can or should.
• Be authentic- don't try to keep up with the bloggers, pinners, or the Jones. As long as your family has fun with your decorations and traditions, who cares if their picture perfect.
- Don't sweat the small stuff - know when to let things go. We can strive for perfection but know that it's a goal that not often met.
